Navigating the Seas of Cryptocurrency Exchanges: Finding Your Bearings

Think of an exchange as your trusted digital harbor, where you can dock your investment ship and set sail in search of trading treasures. Just as every seasoned sailor needs to understand the ocean currents, traders ought to grasp the essence of these platforms.

But it’s not just about picking any port in the storm. When you’re ready to buy XRP, a token known for its speed and efficiency, or any other digital asset, choosing the right exchange is akin to choosing the right vessel for your voyage. Superior exchange platforms stand out with advanced trading tools, robust security measures, and seamless user experiences. They’re the commanding captains that investors count on to navigate through the choppy waters of the crypto market.

Understanding the essence of a cryptocurrency exchange

A cryptocurrency exchange is your all-access pass to the digital assets market. It allows you to buy, sell, and exchange various cryptocurrencies, operating like a stock exchange for the crypto world. But it’s not just a trading floor; it’s also a school. The best exchanges provide educational resources to help you learn the ropes and charts to help you track your progress.

First-time traders might find themselves baffled by the range of choices available. From major players with a global presence to niche exchanges specializing in specific digital currencies, there’s a platform for every sailor in this sea. The trick is to identify which features align with your trading goals and style.

Identifying key features that set apart superior exchange platforms

Advanced trading features are the sextants and compasses of the crypto world. Look for platforms that offer real-time data, intuitive trading interfaces, and analytical tools to help you make informed decisions. Moreover, customer support is your lifeline when you hit a snag. Great exchanges have dedicated teams ready to answer your SOS calls anytime.

Fee structures also play a crucial role. Look for transparent pricing and consider how the fees will affect your trading strategy, especially if you plan to trade frequently or in large amounts. High fees can quickly eat into your profits like barnacles on a ship’s hull.

The importance of user experience in your trading journey

The sea of cryptocurrency trading is vast and occasionally tumultuous. An exchange that prioritizes user experience is like a steady ship, smoothing out the ride for newcomers and seasoned traders alike. Simple navigation, quick transaction times, and easy-to-use tools make the journey more enjoyable and less daunting.

Moreover, having access to a mobile app means that you can manage your trades on the go, catching the right winds for your trades no matter where you are. An exchange that combines functionality with convenience is a beacon in the foggy world of crypto trading.

How to start trading: the first steps in buying digital assets like XRP

Starting your trading voyage is as exciting as it is nerve-wracking. The first step is to set up an account with an exchange that checks all the right boxes for you. Verification processes are becoming more streamlined, but remember that patience is a virtue as these are typically in place to ensure your security.

Once verified, fund your account with fiat money or other cryptocurrencies. With your account prepped and ready, you’re free to trade the digital assets of your choice, with opportunities to buy, sell, and observe how your investments perform in real-time. Following credible market analysis and staying abreast of the latest news will serve as the north star guiding you through your trading journey.

Decoding digital asset diversity

The crypto market is rich with opportunities for those brave enough to explore its depths. Bitcoin may be the flagship of this fleet, but there are many other vessels in the sea. Ethereum, for example, is known for its smart contracts, which have revolutionized the way we think about executing agreements digitally. Then there’s XRP, renowned for its efficient cross-border transactions.

Diversifying your investments across different types of digital assets can not only minimize risk but also open up new trading strategies. Like a captain who knows the strengths of each ship in their armada, a wise trader understands the unique advantages of each digital currency in their portfolio.

Anchoring trust in the fluctuating tides of crypto markets

Just as the ocean’s tides rise and fall, so too do the crypto markets fluctuate. Trust in your chosen exchange is paramount, as you’ll need confidence in their ability to weather the market’s storms. Check the exchange’s history, look for testimonials from other traders, and gather as much information as you can to ensure you’re sailing with a reputable crew.

Stay vigilant for market shifts using trusted resources. Patience and perseverance are key. With a steady hand, navigate through rough seas with confidence. Embark on your crypto journey with knowledge, strategy, and a trusted platform. Focus on user experience, appreciate digital currency diversity, and prioritize security and trust. In the ever-changing crypto world, your anchors are security, trust, and a long-term outlook. Happy trading!

Avoiding Stock Trading Mistakes: Advice From Pro Traders

Experienced traders have learned through trial and error what not to do when picking stocks or placing trades. In this article, we’ll address some of these mistakes so you can learn from the experiences of others and get started in stock trading on the right foot.

Falling prey to emotions

One of the most common mistakes made by inexperienced stock traders is the tendency to make decisions based on emotions rather than logic. In some cases, novice traders may need to be more confident and take risks that are too large for their risk tolerance. Conversely, fear and caution can cause others to avoid risks. Both scenarios can result in losses in stock trading as emotions cloud the ability to make objective investment decisions.

It is important to create a plan before trading and stick to it to reduce the risk of emotionally motivated decisions. This could include setting specific goals for each trade (e.g. maximum gains or losses), determining how long to stay invested in a particular stock, or researching companies thoroughly before investing. It’s also a good idea to be objective and take emotions out of the equation as much as possible. This can be achieved by monitoring market conditions, understanding trends, and making logical decisions based on data rather than instinct.

Neglecting diversification

Another common mistake inexperienced traders make is not diversifying their portfolios. If you trade stocks with only one type of security or company, you run the risk of suffering significant losses if that investment fails. You can reduce this risk by spreading your investments across multiple companies and industries. With a diverse portfolio, you have access to more markets, which can increase your chances of long-term success.

Creating a diversified portfolio that reflects your individual goals and risk tolerance is critical. It could include different types of stocks (e.g. blue chip, growth or value stocks) and different sectors (e.g. technology, energy or healthcare). You can also diversify by investing in ETFs or mutual funds that provide broader exposure to the stock market. Once you’ve created an initial portfolio, it’s important to monitor it closely and adjust accordingly to ensure it remains diverse and balanced over time.

Saxo is an investment bank with a branch in Singapore that provides a diverse range of investment vehicles including crypto ETFS for those who are looking to create a well-rounded portfolio.

Not understanding the financial markets

One of the biggest mistakes new traders make is not having a thorough knowledge of the stock market before making trades. To be successful in stock trading, it is important to understand how markets work and how news and other external factors can affect prices. It’s important to stay current on industry news and trends to anticipate changes in stock prices and make informed decisions about when to buy or sell stocks.

Inexperienced traders can make ill-informed decisions that can result in significant losses without properly researching and understanding the markets. To avoid this problem, it is important to take the time to educate yourself on important topics such as economic indicators, chart patterns, and risk management. Consider following influential market analysts and participating in stock trading forums to stay up to date with news and other relevant information.

Ignoring fees and taxes

Another mistake new traders make is not taking into account the costs associated with stock trading. This includes commissions, transaction fees and taxes, which can quickly add up if not taken into account in advance. Depending on your level of activity and the nature of your investments, these costs can significantly reduce the potential for returns or even result in losses. Short-term capital gains are generally taxed at a higher rate than long-term ones. Therefore, it is important to consider the tax implications before executing any transaction.

Not having a plan

Finally, many inexperienced traders overlook the importance of creating and implementing an investment plan. This could include setting specific goals, such as returns or losses per trade, and determining when to buy or sell stocks. It’s also important to have an overall strategy for allocating the assets in your portfolio and determining how often you should rebalance it. A detailed plan can help avoid the stress and difficulty associated with spontaneous decisions that can lead to costly mistakes.

Creating an effective trading plan requires market research and analysis, an understanding of risk tolerance, and knowledge of the financial instruments available to traders. Once you’ve put together your plan, review it regularly to ensure it reflects current market conditions as well as your individual goals and risk tolerance. Following the plan can help you stay disciplined in stock trading and maximize your chances of long-term success.

The Strategic Impact of Airdrop Programs in the Crypto Environment

The rationale behind airdrop programs is multifaceted, encompassing marketing, community building, reward mechanisms, and network security. This article delves into the strategic underpinnings of airdrops, elucidating why they are not merely generous giveaways but a calculated move by savvy industry players.

1.   Enhancing Brand Visibility and Adoption

A primary motive for airdrop programs is to bolster brand visibility and foster wider adoption of the platform or token. By distributing free tokens or assets, companies can attract a substantial user base, encouraging the exploration and utilization of their platforms. This strategy leverages the basic principle of human psychology: the allure of freebies. Recipients are more likely to

engage with a product they have a stake in, however small, thereby increasing the token’s distribution and usage. Consequently, a well-executed airdrop can significantly amplify brand awareness and catalyze network effects, propelling the project into the spotlight of the crypto community.

2.   Community Engagement and Loyalty

Building a loyal and engaged community is crucial in the crypto space, where trust and user participation are paramount. Airdrops serve as a powerful tool to reward existing users and attract new ones, fostering a sense of belonging and investment in the project’s success. For startups and established entities alike, nurturing a vibrant community can lead to invaluable feedback, higher retention rates, and a more robust defense against market volatility. Through airdrops, companies communicate their appreciation for the community’s support, incentivizing active participation and long-term commitment.

3.   Distributing Tokens for Decentralization

Decentralization is a fundamental principle of the blockchain ethos, and airdrops contribute to this objective by dispersing tokens among a wide user base. This distribution method helps prevent token concentration in the hands of a few, reducing the risk of market manipulation and enhancing network security. For blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, achieving a widespread token distribution is crucial for maintaining a decentralized governance structure, where decision-making power is shared among many holders rather than centralized authorities.

4.   Stimulating Trading and Liquidity

Airdrops can also invigorate trading activities and liquidity for a new token. By increasing the number of token holders, airdrops can lead to a more active trading environment on exchanges. Higher liquidity is beneficial for both users and the platform, as it leads to more stable prices, lower transaction costs, and an enhanced ability to buy or sell large quantities of tokens without significantly impacting the market price. This dynamic environment attracts more traders and investors, contributing to the project’s overall ecosystem growth.

5.   Preparing for Future Developments

Companies often use airdrops to prepare their ecosystems for upcoming developments, such as major updates, platform launches, or transitions to new blockchain infrastructures. By distributing tokens, companies can ensure that a broader base of users is ready to engage with new features, services, or governance protocols from the outset. This strategy can accelerate adoption rates and user engagement with new developments, ensuring a smoother transition and higher initial participation levels.

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Let’s understand what Two-Factor Authentication is and its role on Web3 Security.

2FA Explained

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security process that requires two different forms of identification from the user to grant access to an online account or system. The idea behind 2FA is to add an extra layer of security beyond just a username and password, making it harder for unauthorized individuals to gain access to sensitive information or accounts.

The two factors in 2FA typically involve something the user knows (such as a password or PIN), something the user has (such as a smartphone, a security token, or a smart card), or something the user is (biometric verification like a fingerprint, facial recognition, or iris scan).

How 2FA Works

  • First FactorKnowledge: The user enters their username and the first factor, usually a password or PIN, which is something they know.
  • Second FactorPossession or Inherence: After the first factor is verified, the user is prompted to provide the second factor. This could be:
  • Possession: Something the user has, such as a code sent via SMS to their smartphone, a push notification verification, or a code generated by an authenticator app. It can also be a physical device like a U2F (Universal 2nd Factor) security key.
  • Inherence: Something the user is, which involves biometric verification methods like fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, or voice recognition.

The Role of 2FA in Leveraging Security

2FA plays a crucial role in leveraging security, especially in today’s digital landscape where cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated and frequent. Its importance can be seen across various contexts, from protecting personal online accounts (like email and banking) to securing access to corporate networks and sensitive data.

Here are some key ways 2FA enhances security:

Mitigating Password Vulnerabilities

Passwords, while necessary, are often the weakest link in the security chain due to common practices like reusing passwords across multiple sites or choosing easily guessable passwords. 2FA addresses this vulnerability by requiring a second form of verification, ensuring that access is not solely dependent on passwords.

Protecting Against Phishing and Social Engineering Attacks

Phishing attacks, which trick users into providing sensitive information, are less effective against accounts protected with 2FA. Even if attackers obtain the password, they cannot bypass the second factor, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Enhancing Compliance and Data Protection

For businesses, implementing 2FA can help comply with regulations and standards that mandate strong access controls and data protection measures, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States.

Building User Trust

By employing 2FA, organizations can demonstrate a commitment to security, thereby building trust with customers and users who are increasingly concerned about privacy and data breaches.

Adapting to Remote Work and Digital Transformation

As organizations continue to embrace remote work and digital services, 2FA provides a secure way to manage access to resources and services across distributed environments and devices.

Blockchain in the Cloud: A greener future for blockchain developers

In fact, according to the White House, the total power usage for the cryptocurrency economy is around 180 billion kW hours per year, which is more than the electricity used by all of Australia in the same time period.

Of course, there is more to blockchain than cryptocurrency, but today all technology providers are under pressure to improve their sustainability credentials, and many blockchain foundations have been criticised for how energy-intensive their processes are.

However, by utilizing emerging mechanisms for verifying blockchain transactions – such as Proof of Stake (PoS) validation protocols – businesses can greatly reduce their CPU/GPU usage and energy consumption.

How a transaction is verified in the blockchain

One of the most popular uses cases for blockchain technologies is decentralized applications (Dapps). The front-end facing applications create a smart contract (transaction), which then must be verified. If the verification process is successful, it gets added to the transaction block. A transaction can only be added to the chain when criteria are met. The verification process depends on the protocol sourcing the network.

Proof of Work (PoW) protocol

In a network operating PoW protocol, the transactions are validated by a mining node. The verifying nodes that operate in a PoW based network are solving a mathematical problem. They mostly use the computing power of a GPU or CPU to solve these problems. Very often, mining nodes use 100% of the available compute power. This method requires servers to be equipped with very powerful GPUs, which need to run continually.

Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol

The adoption of Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain validation protocol is accelerating across the industry. When a blockchain is operating a PoS consensus mechanism, the transaction verification process is managed by a network of validators who run infrastructure equipped with the operational crypto currency of the network itself. They are driven by a common interest in maintaining network security and transparency. These “validators” operate a pool of staking nodes, which delegate a portion of their coin assets insuring the legitimacy of the transaction.

Crucially, the PoS nodes are not necessarily using the full compute resource capacity, making it a much more sustainable blockchain ecosystem. As a result, many commentators anticipate an easing of the restrictions put in place by cloud service providers.

PoS in practice

We will now look at an example of a Proof of Stake organisation in practice. Bware Labs delivers a suite of powerful blockchain development tools and infrastructure services built to meet the challenges of Web3. Its flagship product Blast is one of the world’s fastest blockchain API platforms.

As a reliable and secure platform, Bware Labs can also support blockchain projects as a validator and bridge operator. It is trusted by 54 blockchains, 10k active delegators, and has a total locked value of $450M. Moreover, Bware Labs built GovScan, a tracking hub for monitoring blockchain governance proposals, and to further support builders in their journey, they are also offering app chains, faucets, and snapshot services.

“To deliver market-leading blockchain services and dev tools, we needed a technical solution which could not only deliver superlative performance, scale in an agile fashion but also offer secure and resilient network availability. However, sustainability is also important to us, and this is one of the reasons why we chose to work with OVHcloud. It’s rare to find an operator that can provide both technical excellence and market-leading sustainability credentials across recycling, power efficiency, water consumption and innovation, but OVHcloud ticked all the right boxes,” said Radu Enoiu, Co-Founder & Head of Product at Bware Labs.

Into the Future

Sustainability is a very important consideration for the blockchain ecosystem, but it’s not the only consideration. Blockchain organisations face many challenges, from regulatory hurdles to choosing infrastructure, not to mention managing user communities and collaborating with partners.

Furthermore, many blockchain organisations are small, agile, and growing quickly. This puts them in a strong strategic position to incorporate sustainability as a design principle, incorporating it into their corporate DNA. This means that as they grow and scale, not only will their sustainability credentials be attractive to investors and customers, but their energy bills will also be more efficient and affordable.

With this in mind, we can see that sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’, but a ‘must have’ if blockchain companies are to do business responsibly today – not to mention that sustainability pays its own dividends by cutting costs and reducing waste.

And when you look at it this way, it’s perfectly clear that blockchain’s future must be truly green.

Bridging the Divide: Cryptocurrency Mainstream Adoption

Mainstream Adoption of Crypto

Crypto has grown in acceptance because countries like El Salvador and the Central African Republic recognise Bitcoin as a legal tender. Real estate, payID casino, and finance businesses have also started accepting crypto in their transactions, so it is now a relevant member of modern e-commerce. The blockchain network in crypto has been adopted into supply systems like energy grids, and it also serves as a security measure in government systems. Crypto has won many hearts, but many are still scared to leap over because of their reservations.

What Is Aiding the Adoption of Crypto?

Blockchain and cryptography are the technologies that cryptosystems operate on. Using these techs in digital transaction systems presents many advantages that trump using traditional currencies. However, there are other factors promoting crypto’s acceptance in different industries like poker industry and others, some of which are:

  • Increased Acceptance Rate: While this might sound redundant to you, the increasing acceptance rate of crypto is also a driving force in the acceptance rate of crypto. The fact that more people have bought into the idea also instigates others to buy into it. The improved use of crypto in businesses also propels people by creating a need for them to use it.
  • User-Friendly Systems: Once you learn blockchain networks, you will discover that crypto is very user-friendly. It is straightforward to sign up with crypto platforms and to create wallets with blockchain networks, and you will always get clear details of your transactions. With the customer support and top-tier under interfaces on these platforms, it will be easy for you to manage your assets.
  • Decentralisation: The central theme in cryptocurrency is a circulation system that is not controlled by a central authority, only influenced by its users. Unlike the traditional systems most places run on, crypto doesn’t have a governing body that decides what is best for the currency. It means you have more freedom with your money if it is in crypto.
  • Economic Situations: Apart from central authorities, local currencies are also influenced by inflation and scarcity, instability, and local events. The failing economy in many regions makes it impossible to trade internationally or save in local currencies. Victims of such economies should use a digital currency that will probably rise in value and is not subject to the economy’s performance.
  • Financial Organisations: Besides traders and businesses, financial organisations like banks, hedge funds, and other investors have added crypt to their services. The involvement of profit-oriented companies further creates a sense of trust in most that crypto spaces are safe for trading and even investment. These organisations also provide services in crypto.
  • Technology: There have been a lot of updates in the original designs of crypto networks, making blockchains execute trades faster, more secure, and improved in scalability. Blockchains now operate on better algorithms, and it is easier for them to communicate with each other. Thanks to crypto, international transactions are faster and less constricting.

Challenges Facing the Adoption of Crypto

Crypto has become a widely adopted concept, but it still needs to appeal to most of the population, according to multiple surveys. Here are some of the challenges affecting its adoption.

Environmental Safety and Lack of Information

Proof of Work is a concept in the blockchain industry that provides security in transactions by rewarding miners with tokens after assigning them transactions to verify. The automated process involved is quite lucrative, but it is an intensive process that requires a lot of energy. Many people would prefer something else to this part of the current cryptosystems.

More cryptocurrency surveys show that most people need to be more informed or informed. People are expected to instead not invest their money in a concept they do not know about or are scared of. There must be more crypto awareness if popular misconceptions will be dealt with.

Security Concerns and Fluid Laws

The blockchain and encryption technologies used in crypto assure you security for all your assets and transactions. Unfortunately, you risk losing money to frauds, hackers and market manipulators. You can also lose access to your wallets if you need to place your key.

Although it has been in active use since the early 2010s, most laws on crypto have yet to take definite shape. Crypto regulations range from mild restrictions in certain regions to complete bans in others. The fear of facing problems with regulation bodies is another major factor that prevents investors from buying and selling crypto assets.

Market Values, Negative Opinions and Transaction Speed

When you compare cryptocurrencies to traditional currencies, the progression in value stands out the most. Due to the regulation of central banks and the sheer amount of daily exchanges, currencies assume a reasonably stable value, or they fall or rise smoothly. However, those factors do not control cryptocurrencies, whose values change rapidly and inconsistently in an ideal setting. It is not a stable means of exchange.

While most people are concerned about how crypto works, others are more concerned about how it appeals to them. The recurring cyber crimes involving crypto in the last few years have cemented negative opinions regarding crypto. Unfortunately, these opinions are not a true reflection of crypto.

Thanks to interoperability (the ability of computers to exchange information), transactions can occur across blockchain networks. However, these networks are less efficient for interaction by design, so transactions take longer and may incur charges. Even trade on a single network may slow down to inconvenient speeds during high-traffic sessions.

There must be changes to the current cryptosystems for everyone to buy into the idea. Crypto is more suited to the needs of a growing technological world, so it is important to start educating people on its importance. Some support from financial institutions and the government will also help to improve the general opinion on cryptocurrencies. An increase in participation in crypto will lead to stabilised markets, which is ideal for investors.

DDD-Day: Bitcoin ETF Is Approved

Finally – Decision Day, Dropping-The-News Day, Deliverance Day, use any D word you may want to, and join the celebration! Because, as Commissioner Hester M. Peirce of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said: ‘Out, Damned Spot! Out, I Say ‘.

The Prelude

Prior to the official news, SEC Chair Gary Gensler had turned to X (formerly Twitter) to publish his warnings on crypto investments: a thread on Monday (January 08) which highlights the volatility, lack of compliance and loads of ‘fraudsters’ and a reminder of the many risks that come with crypto on Tuesday (January 09) . The crypto community, of course, sneered at another series of crypto bashing from him. But if we take a moment to really think about it, persistent warnings right before the SEC’s deadline on spot Bitcoin ETF applications could indeed be seen as hints from Gensler himself on the approval, right? That’s not to mention the SEC serving as a classic example of ‘secure your accounts/protect your identity ‘ on the same day after their official account on X got compromised and fake news on the spot Bitcoin ETF approval was posted there. Gensler ‘warned’ us, but most of us were too busy criticising him to realise his true intention, weren’t we?

Everything on the SEC incident is covered here: SEC’s Comedy of Errors: The Hilarious Fake Bitcoin ETF Approval

It would be a serious mistake to not talk about the fee war between spot Bitcoin ETF issuers as the approval was impending: BlackRock reduced the initial fee of 0.30% to 0.25%, 21Shares & Ark from 0.25% to 0.21%, Bitwise from 0.24% to 0.20%, WisdomTree from 0.50% to 0.30%, Invesco & Galaxy Digital from 0.59% to 0.39%, Valkyrie from 0.8% to 0.49%, and Fidelity from 0.39% to 0.25%. These issuers also offer even lower, but conditional fees. For example, BlackRock charges only 0.12% in the first year or for the first US$5 billion in AUM, and 21Shares & Ark will implement a fee waiver for the first 6 months or the first US$1 billion in AUM, whichever comes first.

Does It Mean Futures Bitcoin ETFs Are Whacked?

Less discussed but we’ve seen the question popping up every now and then in crypto convos across platforms. The biggest Bitcoin ETF in the U.S. as of today (January 11) is ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF with US$1.7 billion in AUM , which is a futures-based Bitcoin ETF. The biggest difference between a futures Bitcoin ETF and a spot ETF is the ownership of assets – a spot ETF engages in the purchases and management activities of actual Bitcoin, while a futures ETF simply provides investors with exposure to Bitcoin futures contracts on CME. Each type has its pros and cons, and just like how spot and futures markets for all assets have and will still coexist for diversification and hedging purposes, we expect futures ETFs to be hanging around to satisfy different risk appetites as well as investment needs.

As explained in our Bitget Academy article – Reasons To Look Forward To Spot Bitcoin ETF Approvals In The US, the greatest impacts of these approvals mean more capital flowing into crypto and proper recognition of crypto by U.S. authorities (finance and regulation-wise), who until recently stayed aggressive towards the whole space. We will soon provide summary on spot Bitcoin ETFs performance in the Bitget Hot Takes series in the upcoming weeks as another indicator of institutions’ sentiment.

The World of Sustainable Transportation and Digital Finance

When we think about the future of transportation, images of sleek electric vehicles quietly zipping down highways and hydrogen-powered cars emitting nothing but water vapor often come to mind. But what’s equally exciting is how these sustainable technologies are beginning to intersect with the digital finance world, where cryptocurrencies and blockchain are reshaping how we view ownership, value, and investment.

As we move towards a hydrogen economy, the development of storage solutions for hydrogen becomes crucial to the infrastructure, blending physical engineering with digital technology. This provides a unique opportunity to explore these converging paths in both the sustainable transportation and digital finance sectors.

The Push for Clean Energy Vehicles

In the quest for cleaner air and a healthier planet, electric and hydrogen-fueled vehicles are hailed as prime solutions to cut down our carbon footprint. As the urgency to address climate change intensifies, consumers and governments alike are prioritizing sustainability.

This shift is not just about swapping out gas for electricity or storage solutions for hydrogen; it’s about reimagining our entire approach to mobility. Real-life examples, like the growing network of EV charging stations and hydrogen fueling infrastructure, underscore this movement toward a greener transportation landscape.

The Increasing Interest From the Crypto Community in Sustainability

The cryptocurrency community is not standing by idly as the automotive industry makes these leaps. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Sustainability has become a hot topic among crypto enthusiasts, who are often tech-savvy and forward-thinking. They’re taking note of clean energy trends and are ready to invest in technologies that align with their vision of a more sustainable future. As a result, we’re seeing an intriguing crossover of interests, leading to new possibilities for collaboration between these two innovative realms.

How Electric and Hydrogen Vehicles Fit into the Blockchain World

Blockchain technology, the backbone of cryptocurrencies, is poised to play a significant role in the adoption of hydrogen and electric vehicles. Beyond just providing a secure transaction ledger, blockchain can facilitate real-time data exchange for vehicle performance, simplify supply chain tracking for vehicle components, and even manage billing for charging services. This level of integration could greatly enhance the user experience for owners of sustainable vehicles, making it easier and more transparent to own and operate green technology.

Current Advancements in Hydrogen Storage Technology

Storing hydrogen effectively and safely is one of the biggest challenges in scaling up hydrogen vehicles. However, with innovative approaches to hydrogen fuel storage, we’re beginning to see this hurdle being addressed. Research into solid-state hydrogen storage and improvements in fuel cell designs are promising developments that could improve the viability of hydrogen-powered transportation. These advancements also indicate potential areas of collaboration with smart technologies and digital finance, as secure, efficient, and technologically advanced storage systems are a natural fit with the ethos of blockchain.

Blockchain and the Green Vehicle Movement

There’s more than one way blockchain can intersect with the push toward electric and hydrogen-fueled vehicles. For instance, blockchain could provide a transparent and immutable record of a vehicle’s carbon footprint throughout its lifecycle. This level of transparency not only appeals to environmentally conscious consumers but also to governments and corporations looking to meet sustainability targets. Additionally, with smart contracts on the blockchain, we can expect more transparent and efficient means of handling vehicle leasing, energy credits, and even peer-to-peer energy sharing among EV owners.

The Role of Cryptocurrencies in a New Era of Eco-Conscious Mobility

Cryptocurrencies themselves are becoming more eco-conscious, with the rise of “green coins” and sustainable mining practices. This shift mirrors the push for sustainable transportation solutions and positions digital currencies to play a pivotal role. Imagine, for instance, using cryptocurrency to pay for charging your electric vehicle, or earning tokens through a blockchain platform that verifies your car’s low emissions. Such innovations can help streamline the transition to green mobility and potentially provide economic incentives for consumers to join in.

In Conclusion: When Tech-Savvy Enthusiasts Meet Eco-Friendly Vehicles

In the end, all you have to do is picture this: a world where your EV not only gets you from point A to point B without harmful emissions but also seamlessly integrates with your digital lifestyle. Thanks to the convergence of crypto-savvy users and advanced vehicle technology, we’re not too far from this reality. Blockchain could connect drivers to an ecosystem where digital wallets and charging networks operate hand-in-hand, making the use of eco-friendly vehicles not just a responsible choice, but a convenient and smart one as well.

What Is the Technical Indicator With Volume?

These indicators are primarily mathematical calculations based on the price, volume, or open interest of a security or contract. By applying these tools, traders aim to eliminate the noise of random price fluctuations and focus on the underlying direction of the price trends.

Incorporating volume into technical analysis elevates the efficacy of these indicators. Volume, the total number of shares or contracts traded within a specified time frame, acts as the fuel behind the market movements. It provides a weight to the price action, offering insights into the strength or weakness of price trends. Acknowledging volume gives traders a comprehensive view, allowing them to make more informed decisions by confirming the robustness of price movements and potentially increasing the accuracy of their predictions. This integration of volume into technical analysis is crucial for a nuanced understanding of market dynamics.

The Role of Volume in Trading

Volume Image 1

Volume, in the context of financial markets, is the total quantity of shares or contracts traded in a given security or market during a specified time frame. It is a fundamental aspect of market data, representing the level of activity and liquidity in assets, which are critical for traders to understand market movement dynamics. The significance of volume lies in its ability to confirm trends and price patterns. A high volume indicates a high interest in the asset, often leading to more significant price movements and stronger trends.

For traders, especially those involved in day trading, identifying the best volume indicator for day trading is crucial. These indicators help in validating whether a price movement is supported by substantial trading activity. For instance, an upward price trend accompanied by increasing volume is typically viewed as a stronger, more reliable signal than the same movement on low volume. Conversely, if prices are moving but volume is declining, it may suggest a lack of conviction in the market trend, potentially signaling a reversal or slowdown. Thus, volume is a vital tool for traders in confirming trend strength and sustainability.

Common Volume-Based Technical Indicators

Volume Image 2

Several technical indicators effectively incorporate volume, providing traders with insights into market strength and potential price movements. The Volume Oscillator is one such indicator, measuring the difference between two moving averages of volume. It helps identify trends in volume relative to price, indicating bullish or bearish movements based on volume surges or declines.

On-Balance Volume (OBV) is another critical volume-based indicator. It cumulatively adds or subtracts volume on days when the price goes up or down, respectively. The trend of the OBV is believed to precede price movements, offering a predictive signal. If the OBV is rising, it is typically seen as a signal that positive volume is driving prices up.

The Accumulation/Distribution Line is yet another vital indicator that combines price and volume to show how much of a stock is being accumulated or distributed. The indicator’s rise or fall reflects the consensus among investors: if it is rising, buying is dominant (accumulation), while falling suggests selling pressure (distribution).

Case Studies: Volume Indicators in Action

Real-life applications of volume indicators often underscore their value in trading strategies. For instance, a trader might observe an ascending OBV in tandem with price, interpreting it as a bullish sign and deciding to buy the asset. Conversely, if the OBV is diverging negatively from the price trend, it might signal an upcoming price drop, prompting a sell decision.

In another case, traders have used the Accumulation/Distribution Line to spot divergences from the price. For example, if a stock’s price is in an uptrend while the Accumulation/Distribution Line is trending downward, it might suggest that the stock is being distributed by large players, and a reversal might be imminent.

The Volume Oscillator, with its focus on volume momentum, is particularly effective in markets with large volume swings. Traders often look for significant peaks or troughs in the oscillator as signals for overbought or oversold conditions, respectively, aligning their trades accordingly.

These examples highlight how volume indicators not only aid in confirming trends but also in predicting potential reversals, playing a crucial role in formulating and adjusting trading strategies. Each indicator, with its unique approach to incorporating volume, offers different insights, contributing to a multifaceted understanding of market dynamics.

Integrating Volume Indicators into Trading Strategies

Traders can integrate volume indicators into their trading strategies to enhance decision-making and risk management. By overlaying volume indicators on price charts, traders can look for confirmation of breakouts or reversals. For instance, a price breakout with accompanying high volume may indicate a more reliable and sustainable move. Traders often combine volume indicators with other forms of analysis, such as trend lines and price patterns, to get a holistic view of the market. This multi-faceted approach helps in discerning stronger signals from noise, thereby improving the odds of successful trades. Consistency in using volume indicators alongside other techniques ensures a more robust and informed trading strategy.

Challenges and Considerations

One common challenge in using volume-based technical indicators is the potential for over-reliance or misinterpretation of signals. Traders must understand that while volume indicators provide valuable insights, they are not infallible and should be used in conjunction with other analysis methods. Misreading volume signals or ignoring broader market contexts can lead to erroneous conclusions and trading decisions.

To overcome these challenges, traders should continuously educate themselves on various indicators and their appropriate applications. They should also backtest strategies using historical data to understand how volume indicators would have performed under different market conditions. Keeping abreast of market trends and remaining flexible in strategy adjustments are crucial. Traders should also be aware of the liquidity of the asset they are trading, as volume indicators might be less reliable in thinly traded or highly illiquid markets. By acknowledging these considerations and employing a disciplined approach, traders can effectively utilize volume indicators to enhance their trading strategies.

Throughout this article, we’ve explored the significance of volume in trading, detailed popular volume-based technical indicators, and examined their practical applications through case studies. Incorporating volume indicators into trading strategies offers traders an added layer of insight, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions and potentially providing an edge in market analysis. As with any tool, understanding and proper application are key to leveraging the full benefits of volume indicators in trading.

Understanding Cryptocurrency Exchangers

What Are They?

Online cryptocurrency exchangers are platforms where users can exchange one type of cryptocurrency for another or for fiat money, like USDT TRC20 to Monobank, or Bitcoin BTC to Privat24 UAH.

How Do They Function?

These platforms match buyers and sellers, facilitating the exchange of currencies at a market-driven or fixed rate. They may also provide wallets for storing digital currencies.

Choosing the Right Exchanger

Evaluating Security and Reliability

When selecting an exchanger, consider their security measures, reputation, and user reviews. Platforms with robust security protocols and positive user feedback, as found on sites like, are generally more reliable.

Understanding Fees and Exchange Rates

Different exchangers have varying fee structures and exchange rates. It’s essential to understand these before executing any transaction.

Popular Transactions and Their Features

Common Exchange Transactions

Popular transactions include exchanging USDT TRC20 for Qiwi, Bitcoin BTC for Privat24 UAH, and converting WMZ to LTC. Each of these transactions has unique features in terms of speed, fees, and currency availability.

Understanding the Ebb and Flow of SOL Price in Thriving Cryptocurrency Exchanges

Price movements can intrigue amateur enthusiasts and can often sway the strategic decisions of seasoned investors. So, what exactly moves the needle on sol price in today’s market?

Factors influencing sol price in the current market

Various elements come into play when it comes to the changing value of any cryptocurrency. Market sentiment, technological advancements and world events can all cause prices to soar or plummet. For instance, a positive news story about blockchain technology might see prices climbing; conversely, a significant security breach might cause nervousness amongst investors, pushing the prices downwards. The key here is the market’s perception, as much as the underlying fundamentals of the currency itself.

The role of supply and demand in altcoin valuations

The classic economic principle of supply and demand also holds significant sway in crypto valuations. A coin like sol, with a finite supply, can experience price surges when a spike in demand hits the market. If a new dApp or partnership increases the utility of the sol token, more people might want to buy it, hence driving up the demand and consequently its price. On the other hand, if large quantities of sol hit the market at once, perhaps from early investors ‘cashing out’, you might see a temporary dip in price.

Comparison with other cryptocurrencies on major trading platforms

It’s not just about looking at sol in isolation. Crypto markets are closely linked; the fortunes of one coin can affect another. If a prominent platform announces support for a new token, this can affect the sol price as traders shift their assets. Likewise, when major players in the market encounter obstacles or milestones, this can send waves across the board, shifting the relative value of sol against other digital currencies.

The balancing act of centralized and decentralized platforms in the crypto world

In the digital currency landscape, there’s an ongoing debate about the merits of centralized versus decentralized platforms. Each offers a different user experience, with potential implications for sol price. Centralized platforms often provide more user-friendly interfaces and customer support but might be seen as less secure due to the higher chance of hacking. On the other hand, decentralized platforms appeal to those valuing anonymity and security, even if they come with a steeper learning curve.

Ensuring safety in cryptocurrency transactions: A look at exchange security

The safety measures implemented by exchanges are crucial not only for the protection of investments but also for stabilizing sol prices. A secure platform instills confidence in traders, contributing to a stable trading environment. Cybersecurity advancements are paramount, aiming to outpace malicious attacks that can undermine market integrity. The aftermath of a hacking incident, however, can ripple through the market, affecting prices as trust wavers. Here, the user also plays a pivotal role – a secure password and the use of multi-factor authentication can mean the difference between secure assets and a compromised account.

The ripple effect of large exchanges on blockchain adoption and innovation

Being among the largest exchange platforms means having the power to influence blockchain adoption. These platforms connect traditional financial markets with the emerging crypto space, paving the way for more widespread acceptance. The exchange’s stature also positions it to potentially drive innovation within the blockchain ecosystem. When they integrate new features or support emerging technologies, it can ignite interest and, in turn, foster an increase in sol price due to heightened attention and investment.

Navigating market liquidity and investment strategies on prominent trading platforms

Understanding market liquidity and its influence is essential for any crypto trader. Highly liquid markets enable easier transactions without a significant price change, offering stability to the trading process. This encourages investment as traders can enter and exit positions with minimal impact on sol price. Platforms boasting high liquidity rates are seen as lucrative grounds for implementing diverse trading strategies. However, engaging in these markets with an informed perspective on risk management can be the fine line between profit and loss.

Whether you’re intrigued by the fast-paced dynamics of trading sol or more broadly interested in the crypto market’s movements, there’s no denying the importance of keeping abreast with the factors that mold the landscape. The quest to demystify the complexities of cryptocurrency continues and understanding these nuances is a pivotal part of the modern financial narrative.

The Resilience and Potential of MATIC in a Competitive Crypto Landscape

Observers and investors alike have witnessed the ups and downs, but it’s the resilience and potential growth that make MATIC an intriguing asset.

Amidst fluctuating trade volumes and unpredictable crypto weather, the MATIC Price has shown a remarkable degree of stability, one that signifies maturity and a strong foundational technology. Cryptocurrency exchanges play a crucial role in shaping the trajectory of tokens like MATIC by providing a reliable and sophisticated platform for trading.

Analyzing Current Performance and Factors Influencing MATIC Price

The landscape of digital assets is akin to a grand chessboard – with each move from developers, investors, and platforms alike altering the state of play. Factors that affect assets like MATIC range from scalability enhancements to broader adoption in real-world applications. The symbiotic relationship between innovative platforms and the tokens that occupy their space could not be more critical.

Users leverage such platforms for their cutting-edge financial services and robust trading systems, in hopes of gaining an edge over the ever-volatile market conditions that influence tokens including MATIC.

The dynamics of a cryptocurrency’s value are guided by a confluence of technical, fundamental, and sentiment-driven indicators. A deeper dive into the market reveals that the scalability solutions presented by the underpinning platform can serve as catalysts for growth, potentially spurring investor confidence in tokens like MATIC.

With technological developments often signaling a bullish narrative, it is also imperative to understand the sentiment of the trading community, gathered through a myriad of analytics, which can provide foresight into potential price movements. Thus, the interaction of these multifaceted elements with market participants plays a pivotal role in establishing the sustainability of price trends over both short and long-term horizons.

Bridging Advanced Trading with User-Friendliness

When it comes to executing sophisticated crypto trading strategies, traders seek out platforms that can offer seamless experiences. Handling both spot and futures contracts with finesse, various exchanges have become a go-to destination for those in the crypto community who demand speed, reliability and, above all, a user-friendly interface. Simplifying complex trading mechanisms while ensuring maximum performance embodies the technological advancements that define different approaches to empowering traders in making informed decisions.

Empowering Traders with Analytical Tools and Risk Management Features

Trading in cryptocurrencies is not for the faint of heart, necessitating a blend of intuition and strategic analysis. Different exchanges approach this decision-making process with their own suite of analytical tools that provide detailed insights into market trends and asset performances. Coupled with these tools, risk management features form the backbone of a secure trading strategy, which is a factor various exchanges know all too well.

Built-in protections such as advanced order types and real-time risk assessment empower users to trade with confidence, often turning the volatile nature of assets like MATIC into opportunities rather than pitfalls. After all, no one can deny the fact that the modern cryptosphere is a highly volatile environment. Nevertheless, even such landscapes can be navigated efficiently with the right set of tools and features.

Security Measures: Building Trust on the Blockchain

In a world where digital assets are increasingly targeted by nefarious agents, the cornerstone of any reputable cryptocurrency exchange is its security infrastructure. Exchanges have built a fortress of trust around their trading systems, integrating top-notch security measures including cold wallet storage and real-time surveillance to protect user assets.

This commitment to safety comes with an equal focus on regulatory compliance, ensuring that users engage with a platform that is as legally robust as it is technologically advanced. It’s through steps like these that exchanges not only foster a secure environment for trading but also bolster the overall trust in the blockchain industry.

A Peak into the Future of Crypto Trading and Innovation

The crypto industry is ever-evolving, and various platforms are at the heart of its progress. By continuously expanding and updating their services, exchanges are setting a precedent for what it means to offer sophisticated, user-friendly, and secure trading experiences.

As cryptocurrencies such as MATIC navigate through the ebbs and flows of the market, it’s the forward-thinking and evolutionary approach of platforms that will help shape the future of digital finance, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the realm of cryptocurrency trading.

How to Invest in Cryptocurrency for Beginners: An Ultimate Guide

Cryptocurrencies are still a matter of dispute. While some people try to stay away from them due to multiple risks involved, others are focused on numerous opportunities for profit they bring. Whether we like it or not, crypto has affected the market significantly. Additionally, it has changed our vision of how financial assets should work.

However, blockchain technology is a relatively new phenomenon that hasn’t been tested properly yet. Therefore, people who want to trade digital assets should fully understand what they are dealing with before coming into play.

If you want to invest in crypto but don’t know where to start, this guide can help you make an informed decision. Let’s talk about how to invest in cryptocurrency for beginners and find ways to get extra cash to buy crypto.

What Is Cryptocurrency?

Many people think that cryptocurrency doesn’t differ much from other digital currencies. However, it’s not completely true. Crypto is much more than just an alternative payment method. It’s also a digital asset that can gain and lose its value under specific conditions. Thus, it combines features of both stocks and bonds and regular digital currencies.

Cryptocurrency has no physical cash backing. A digital currency consists of virtual coins that are called tokens or units. You can purchase cryptocurrency from any company that specializes in crypto exchanges. After buying crypto, you can trade it with other people via specialized platforms. From this point of view, it works similarly to regular stock trading.

The main thing that makes crypto different from other standard or virtual currencies is its decentralization. Crypto assets can be safely obtained, sold or traded without any central authority involved in the process. This means that all the procedures are running bypassing a government or traditional financial institutions.

However, there’s a system that handles cryptocurrency. Although the system has no central location or virtual banks, it works a bit similar to the Federal Reserve. For example, it determines the right time to create a new cryptocurrency and tracks all tokens and their owners.

What Gives Cryptocurrency Its Value?

As we’ve already mentioned, crypto is not backed by any standard currency. But here’s another interesting fact. Cryptocurrency is also not tied to the marketplace in the way most other assets do. Suppose that you have an asset in the form of a house. Its location, facilities, and the real estate market fluctuations will always impact its cost. When it comes to stocks, a company’s success is the key factor that determines their value. And none of this works for cryptocurrency. So if it’s not market conditions or company’s success, what’s then?

The answer can be a bit mind-blowing. Crypto’s value is typically determined by whether or not people’s want to buy it. Simply put, its value is based on nothing but popular demand. Although it seems to be a crazy idea to invest in such unstable and unpredictable assets, crypto is still a high-yield option for high-risk investors.

Why Do People Invest in Cryptocurrencies?

The main reason why people invest in crypto is their itch for financial gain. Cryptocurrency investing is considered potentially profitable as people believe in its ongoing rise. The more people invest in crypto, the higher the returns can be.

Suppose that cryptocurrency will firmly enter our lives in the coming years. As a result, its value will increase, allowing investors to sell currencies at higher prices than those they have paid for them. Profit!

Is It Risky to Invest in the Cryptocurrency Market?

Yes, to some extent. Crypto investing is considered risky due to the crypto market volatility. The main risk is that you can’t predict when it may go wrong. As crypto is not backed by any physical asset, it’s hard to say how it will behave in the future. Therefore, cryptocurrency investing should be approached cautiously.

What Do You Need to Start Investing in Cryptocurrency?

It’s pretty easy to start crypto investing. There are just a few things you need to have:

  • A valid ID, passport, or other proof of identity;
  • An active checking or bank account;
  • A secure and stable Internet connection.

Note: Technically, there are no age restrictions to use crypto. However, most financial apps and popular crypto exchange services, such as Binance or Coinbase, accept members strictly over 18 years old.

Also, there are a few more things you need to keep in mind before you get started:

  1. Cryptocurrency holdings are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Thus, if your crypto exchange becomes bankrupt, you may never get your virtual currency back.
  2. Crypto trading is risky. This is because you can’t always predict the drop of cryptocurrencies. Thus, you need to be prepared for potential financial losses.
  3. Crypto gain is taxable. Since 2014, crypto investors have been obliged to pay capital gains tax. Also, people who mine crypto are subject to self-employment taxes.

Ways to Get Funds to Buy Cryptocurrency

If you need extra money for a crypto purchase, consider the following financing options.

Build Savings

Using savings is one of the greatest ways to buy cryptocurrencies. Start with creating a budget and determine how much money you can set aside each month. Then, stick to your plan and build a nest egg that can be used toward buying cryptocurrency.

Find a Side Gig

If your income is not enough to cover both your regular needs and savings goals, consider finding a side gig and using this extra income to invest in crypto. It may be anything, from freelancing and babysitting to becoming an Uber driver. Choose the option that meets your skills.

Get a Loan to Invest in Crypto

Getting a loan is another option that may work for people with a stable source of income. Unlike crypto loans (learn more about what is a crypto loan), which requires you to pledge your crypto holdings to get the money, personal loans work otherwise. They allow you to access amounts of up to $100,000 for your crypto investment goals, provided that your income is high enough. The repayment is made in affordable monthly installments within up to 60 months. Thus, you can get a lump sum to invest and then repay the funds over time.

However, if you have bad credit, your options may be limited. Most lenders that accept bad credit borrowers allow them to borrow $900 or less. However, even this amount can be enough to get started. Just make sure you can manage your debt and pay on time.

Is Taking Out Loans to Invest in Cryptocurrency a Good Idea?

Not always. It usually depends on your current financial situation and your ability to repay your debt. Additionally, if you’re going to be a long-term investor, you may not be able to use the cryptocurrency income to repay your existing loan. Of course, investment is a borrowing purpose that makes your loan a good debt. At the same time, you need to have a clear repayment plan before taking out a loan.

How to Start Investing in Cryptocurrency in 7 Steps

Here are 7 major steps that will help you dive into the world of crypto investments.

1. Learn More About What You’re Going to Invest in

There are thousands of digital currencies available, and each of them may have its nuances and background. Thus, you need to analyze the market thoroughly before you get started. Take a look at all the potential pros and cons to make an informed investment decision. Keep in mind that crypto funds are not backed by assets or cash flows, so they always come with unpredictable risks.

Knowledge is power, so learn more about virtual currencies and how they function, seek investment advice from current traders, and approach this risky investment responsibly.

2. Leave Your Previous Experience and Prejudice in The Past

Focus on the future, not the past. As crypto may seem unusual and suspicious, it works, although no one knows how long it will last. Although history is cyclical, and you shouldn’t completely ignore it, bear in mind that cryptocurrency is a relatively new phenomenon. Thus, no one can say for sure how it will behave in the future.

Start from what you have now, and don’t look back. If you buy cryptocurrency today, you expect to get returns in the nearest future, not in the past.

3. Choose a Cryptocurrency Broker or Exchange

The right cryptocurrency exchange or broker is often half a success. Both of them are services that help you buy crypto. However, there are some significant differences between them.

Exchanges are crypto platforms that link people who buy and sell cryptocurrency. They always come with relatively low fees but may have difficult interfaces, confusing new members with multiple trade types and performance charts.

Crypto brokers operate more like third parties. They interact with exchanges for you, making it much easier to manage your crypto investments. Additionally, they offer more user-friendly interfaces and often hold their tokens in crypto wallets for extra security.

However, you need to be careful with brokers. First, they may charge higher fees compared to crypto exchanges. Second, those that claim they are free may sell information about your transactions to large brokerages. Finally, many of them have limits on pulling your crypto holdings out of the platform.

4. Decide on the Cryptocurrency You’re Going to Purchase

According to CoinMarketCap, there are now nearly 23,000 cryptocurrencies. If you’re going to buy crypto, you need to understand which currency can better meet your investment goals. Crypto investors name the following currencies the best for beginners:

  • This is the largest cryptocurrency system in the world, with over 10 years of being around and over $128 billion in market capitalization. Bitcoin is supported by every currency exchange and is a great option to start with;
  • The main reason why people like Ether is that it eliminates the need to pay a third party due to its focus on direct purchasing applications;
  • This currency is a more energy-efficient (and therefore less expensive) alternative to Ether. People usually use it to store private data.

5. Create an Account and Complete a Verification Process

After you choose an exchange, you need to create your investment account on the platform. Once complete, you need to pass verification. By doing this, you can avoid fraud and meet federal regulatory requirements. Additionally, most exchanges set very low limits on the amount that you can buy and sell without verification.

To complete the process, you will need to provide your proof of identity. Some exchanges also ask to provide a selfie in order to ensure you’re the person who matches the provided documents.

6. Don’t Forget About Risk Management

Risk management is an important part of cryptocurrency investing. However, the strategy will differ depending on your investment goals. For example, long-term investing is about not selling crypto regardless of its price, while short-term investment sets strict conditions under which you should sell crypto.

Additionally, risk management provides for setting limits on the trading amount. This way, you will still have money left, even if your current deal fails.

7.  Decide on the Way to Store Crypto

Just like with other currencies, you need to have a safe place to store your crypto. There are several storage methods available for virtual currency:

  • Exchange-attached crypto wallets. When you make any operation with your crypto, it’s deposited to or debited from the wallet attached to the platform. Many people find this method not safe enough and prefer to move their investments to a more secure place, often with additional fees;
  • Hot wallets. Hot wallets are separate internet-connected wallets that store your currency online. They may be a convenient storage method for those who need to have quick access to their currency via an internet-connected device. However, they are also riskier;
  • Cold wallets. Cold wallets are the most secure option as they are not connected to the Internet. A typical cold wallet looks like an external device, such as a hard drive or USB. They are secured by keycodes, so if you forget one, you may never be able to access your crypto again.

Extra Tips on Safe Crypto Investment

Here are some tips that will help you with a safe start.

Don’t Invest More Than You Can Afford to Lose

Crypto is a high-risk investment, so you don’t need to put all your money into it. Start small and be realistic about the amount you’re going to invest. What will happen if you lose it all? You never know. While it’s what can really happen to you, be careful.

Realize That There Will Always Be Ups and Downs

No one is safe from failure, especially when it comes to trading crypto. Thus, if you want to become a crypto trader, you need to face this fact. There will always be losses at some point, no matter how hard you try to avoid them. Even if you have a deliberate strategy and try to foresee the unforeseen, the digital currency market can play tricks on you. If you are prepared for temporary setbacks, it will be easier for you to accept them when they happen.

A Few Strategies for Dealing with Bitcoin Volatility

Historically, Bitcoin has been a volatile asset. It continues to evolve along with the factors that influence its price, namely supply and demand, market sentiment, regulatory changes, and media hype, to name a few. The volatility of Bitcoin depends upon how much its price fluctuates compared to the average price in a period of time. In other words, it’s the standard deviation of Bitcoin’s price. Cryptocurrency market volatility brings about opportunities and risks for investors, which is why it’s paramount to understand the forces behind Bitcoin price fluctuations to make sound investment decisions.

If you want to reduce your exposure to Bitcoin volatility, use one or more of the following strategies.

Leave Your Investment Alone

The HODLing strategy can help you avoid losses from short-term volatility and gain returns from long-term value appreciation. You purchase Bitcoin and hold it for a long time, ignoring price swings and waiting for the market price of Bitcoin to increase compared to its purchase value. HODl stands for Hold on for Dear Life. If you’re a beginner, you’re not well-equipped to capture market volatility and trade Bitcoin profitably, so you’re better off investing for the long term. The HODLing strategy is much like the buy-and-hold investing strategy that is used for stocks. Instead of trading Bitcoin based on cryptocurrency market timing, you hold onto it despite any market fluctuations.

HODLing isn’t without risks. More exactly, Bitcoin and blockchain technology might not turn out to be the revolutionary innovation everyone hopes for. Equally, there are times when it’s best to sell Bitcoin, such as when you’ve gained a substantial amount. If Bitcoin has doubled from its initial price, this may be an opportunity to sell. Although it may sound simple, HODLing is actually complicated. To effectively HODL, you must grasp the importance of dollar-cost averaging, which involves investing the same amount of money at regular intervals of time. You’ll be purchasing Bitcoin during market ups and downs.

Ensure You’re Not Risking More Than You Can Afford to Lose

Losing streaks are inevitable in Bitcoin trading, even if you leverage technical analysis to identify trends and signals. If you invest more money than you can afford to lose, you’ll be pressured to sell your Bitcoin due to panic or liquidity issues. Before you start the investment journey, invest only the money you’re willing to lose so that you can focus on your long-term goals and avoid making impulsive decisions. If you invest every dime you have, you’ll lose every dime you have. As opposed to a savings account, where your money is backed by deposit insurance, the value of Bitcoin is left to the whim of the market.

Focus On Rebalancing

Focus on rebalancing on a set time basis, which can range from weekly to annually. Rebalancing means adjusting your portfolio to maintain the desired asset allocation; it involves buying and selling digital assets to ensure your portfolio maintains a specific mix of tokens. When it comes down to cryptocurrency investing, you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket. A cryptocurrency with a lower market cap may have growth potential, so it’s worth investigating the options available. You can look into blockchain initiatives in the United States, Europe, and Asia and make a selection based on your interests and risk appetite.

There are several rebalancing strategies you can use. For example, you can use a threshold rebalancing strategy, which requires the portfolio to be monitored daily. It’s triggered when the portfolio breaches a specific percentage of deviation from the target allocation – you can cap allocation changes at 15%. If the allocation goes beyond this point, either in the positive or negative sense, you rebalance. Another strategy you can take advantage of is calendar rebalancing, where you set a regular schedule. If you rebalance your portfolio weekly, adjust your asset allocation ahead of time.

Have A Regular Savings Plan

One of the best ways to overcome Bitcoin volatility is to avoid it altogether by staying invested and not paying attention to short-term market fluctuations. If you control important things, such as how much you save, you can balance this volatility with long-term growth. Choose a predetermined savings amount on a regular schedule, buying Bitcoin during bull runs and stacking even more when it’s for sale. A savings account is the best place to deposit your Bitcoin, offering safety and a consistent rate on the return. Not only do you get paid interest on your deposit, but you can also withdraw your funds at any time.

If you agree to lend out your Bitcoin, you can earn interest by depositing your tokens on a blockchain platform. Cryptocurrency savings accounts offer more favorable interest rates if you lock up your Bitcoin for a while. There are plenty of options to choose from, including well-established cryptocurrency exchanges; the interest rate offered will depend on the market conditions and paid out in Bitcoin. Until cryptocurrency adoption permeates, you know that your short-term needs are covered. The best savings account offers a wide range of cryptocurrencies, is easy to use, and has reasonable interest rates.

Be Calm and Avoid Irrationality

Knowing how to control your emotions can turn out to be essential while trading Bitcoin. It means the difference between success and failure. Your mental state can affect your investment decisions, so slow your breathing, avoid panic attacks, and recognize irrationality. Due to fear of missing out on possible gains, you might feel pressured to make investments – in other words, you’re tempted to buy and sell impulsively. Greed can also influence your decisions: you become committed to your Bitcoin holdings and refuse to sell, even if the time is right. You can’t solve your irrational behaviors without a trading plan.

Concluding Thoughts

Volatility is an unavoidable feature of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It goes both ways: up and down. Volatility isn’t always a bad thing, so don’t focus exclusively on the negative side of it, as it creates opportunities for profit. As you’ve been able to see, you can use various strategies to overcome Bitcoin volatility and generate returns, so you should better not waste your time.
