Unbundling PBS: Towards protocol-enforced proposer commitments (PEPC)

It sounds as if reducing the load on validators to ensure liveness (and presumably scalability) is now the primary reason for PBS, but I can see a problem with this logic.

While we have a mempool, builders aren’t needed for this. Validators need the bandwidth to handle txs anyway and it’s more censorship resistant with less toxic mev to self build.

If we do away with the mempool and only have builders to reduce the load on validators, Ethereum becomes centralized and censorable.

For example, I don’t see how do crLists work if validators don’t see txs, and if they do, how is this more censorship resistant than self building?
